School Mission:

 

The mission of Salmon Creek Chinese School (SCCS) is to develop confident, capable Chinese language learners who work, share and build for today and tomorrow.

 

SCCS was formed in July 2000 and is located in Vancouver, WA. The principle is a member of NW Chinese Language Association and participated in different teaching conferences through the China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL).  We are adopting the highly recognized Chinese learning material and the curriculum is designed to focus on increasing student listening, speaking, and writing in Chinese and introducing Chinese culture, geography, and history. Our goal is to help students pass HSK (han yu shui ping kao shi), which is Chinese test necessary to apply for a college in China or as a foreign language credit.

 

We use multimedia teaching method combining with textbook, computer learning and 24 hours Chinese cable for the updated history, geography and cross cultural through out the learning. Our students are also involved with various community activities with diversity to practice and applying their language and multi culture skill. We are working towards the AP (Advance Placement), which has been implemented in US since 2007.

 

The school activities:

  • Community culture involvement, such as local libraries, convention center, Rose festival, city of Vancouver, exchange program with San Francisco.
  • Some of the students have participated summer camp and exchange program in China and Taiwan.
  • Connect with other Chinese schools in China and other states.

 

Other services:

  • Translation service: provide oral and written translation for professional services, such as medical, school, immigration and legal field.
  • Art class provided by professional artist for various media. (see more detail under www.waynechin.com)

 

Class setting:  Group teaching and/ or private teaching available. Learn how to communicate and connect with other side of the world – China, effectively.

Have you climbed up to the Great Wall before? It takes time and effort to walk through the journey; similar to learn a second language - Chinese. There is a Chinese saying: “If you can’t climb up to the Great Wall, you are not a real Hero”.  Are you ready to start? Come to learn and have fun with us to “Climb up the Great Wall” together while we learning the 5000 years Chinese culture.

 

 

 

 

Teacher Biography:

 

Jing Chin was born and raised in Guangzhou (Canton), China. She has two sons and a daughter and they speak Cantonese and learning Mandarin. Jing obtained her first B.S.degree, with teaching certificate from Guangzhou Teachers University and taught three years in a high school in Guangzhou before came to US. Jing finished her post B.A. degree in accounting and hold her CPA. Jing has lots of hobbies: swim, music, hiking, Chinese medicine, Qi Gong and Yoga. Teaching Chinese is always her passion.

2005 to 2007: Principal of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Assn. (CCBA)

1995 to present: Chinese interpreter and translator for various organizations including medical, legal and commercial area.
